Branding, custom typography and animations for the Yale School of Art’s 2019 Open House. In thinking about the word open, and also the idea of grad school, we felt that the ocean was an appropriate metaphor for something at once both widely appealing, incomprehensible, and sometimes scary. We filmed the sun setting over the Long Island Sound, and then printed a sequence of screenshots onto the programs. I created custom typography, with large, open counters and thin strokes. The programs were distributed on a postcard stand, which also functioned as the poster leading up to the event. During the Open House, a live stream of the Long Island Sound was projected into the event space.
