In 2016, I started a collaborative photography publication called World Series. Each issue invites two photographers from disparate parts of the world to create work within a framework created specifically for this series:
Step 1: Participants 1 & 2 take 15 photographs of their everyday surroundings.
Step 2: Each participant sends the other their photos.
Step 3: Participants do their best to match the composition and subject matter of the other.
The resulting 30 pairs of images is a visual conversation between the photographers in which new ideas about their practice, lives, enivrons can emerge. Each issue includes an index and a short interview with both photographers. In 2018, the second volume of World Series was acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art for it’s special collections library.
